“It’s Not Magic, It’s Kingsmill” TV campaign
Working alongside Dubai-based Boomtown Productions and IMPACT BBDO, we were challenged to shoot six commercials, social content, and OOH stills for Travel Without the Travel – a bold new brand campaign for P&O Ferries that reimagines sea travel as a laid-back, feel-good experience, reframing it as part of the holiday…not just a way to get there.
Directed by Nick Tree, we crafted a beautiful series of life-affirming, aspirational moments – each one beginning as something familiar and grounded, only to surprise the viewer with a subtle zoom-out that reveals it’s all happening onboard a P&O ferry. A couple enjoying breakfast. A family sharing lunch. A dog snoozing in a lounge. Just when you think you’re on land, you realise you’re already on your way.
It’s a simple but elegant device and one that needed a smart, tightly-run production model to pull off. We shot across two working ferries, one in Hull and one in Dover… the latter actually moving with passengers onboard across the Channel. That meant limited windows, fast turnarounds, and precise co-ordination across all departments. Creative ambition meets real-world logistics….very much the Lobster vibes.
